
Having practiced in the
Houston, Texas area since 1986, Dr. Stephen L. Barrett is respected
as a national leader and pioneer in the development of Endoscopic
foot surgery by the peers in his profession.
He
is sought out as an expert in Heel Pain, and Neuromas, and has
developed two patented Endoscopic surgical procedures. Dr. Barrett
has trained over 3500 surgeons throughout the world in his
techniques, and has been an invited lecturer at the prestigious
annual meeting of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons
several times.
Dr. Barrett has taken advanced
training in microsurgery from the
Baylor College of Medicine, and
acts as the chairman for the research committee for the Houston
Podiatric Foundation, one of the largest training programs for
resident foot surgeons in the U.S. It is his dedication, and
professional mission to develop better, less invasive ways to
perform foot surgery, thereby returning the patient to regular
activity as early as possible.
When asked to give a mission
statement, Dr. Barrett simply says: "It's all about the patient. We
must always focus on the delivery of the highest standard and
quality of care, in a caring manner, with the goal of obtaining the
greatest return of function for them, with the least amount of
inconvenience and discomfort. My goal has always been to find a
better, less invasive way to correct foot problems, and get people
back to normal life as soon as possible." |
